  • CELEBRATING TEACHER'S APPRECIATION WEEK!

Posted by Michele Bowers on 5/5/2020 8:00:00 AM
The week of May 4th-8th we celebrate Teacher's Appreciation Week!
Teachers change the lives of millions of children every day. Their work and committment to students moves us beyond words. With the abrupt end to the physical school year and transition to distance learning, our teachers have and are putting in countless hours and effort in connecting with and providing quality instruction to students given the circumstances of the pandemic. All this in addition to their own personal responsibilities/roles such as caregiving, or providing support for their own children in school at home.

So, let's all shower our teachers in appreciation and share our support and care for them this week! During difficult times like these, we truly recognize the pivotal role that educators play in our student's lives. Thank you for all that you do...

  • Technology is Still Available for Students!

Posted by Michele Bowers on 4/17/2020 2:30:00 PM

It is indeed a fantastic Friday!  Our staff and families are working harder than ever before to support the successful transition to remote learning for our students.  I want to take a moment to thank everyone for going 'above and beyond' during these unprecedented times.  There are truly heroes walking amongst us!  Though these are challenging times, students have access to excellent learning resources, teachers are teaching in new creative ways, and families are coming together to engage, explore, and learn together.  For families that did not have a chance to pick up a computer for use at home, it's not too late to do so.  Please check with your child's school on the schedule for picking it up.

Enjoy your weekend and take time to catch your breath and enjoy the beautiful signs of Spring in the Antelope Valley!

  • Embracing an Attitude of Gratitude

Posted by Michele Bowers on 4/9/2020 1:15:00 PM

There is no question that we - our community, our state, our nation - are in the midst of one of the most challenging times that many of us have ever faced.  It is during these difficult times that it becomes more important than ever to be reminded that we still have much to be grateful for.  So I encourage you to take a breathe and remember the people, the things, and the moments in your life that bring you joy.  I'm sure that list is longer than you think.  So smile often and share kindness - you WILL brighten someones day!

  • WELLNESS WEDNESDAY - This Week's Self Care Tips!

Posted by Michele Bowers on 4/8/2020 11:15:00 AM

Today is WELLNESS WEDNESDAY.  Did you know.......?

Music can be one of the easiest ways to relax and breathe. According to many researchers, music can relieve stress and have a positive impact on your emotions and your body. So think about creating your music self-care playlist with your favorite tunes that bring you peace, joy, and comfort. When it comes to using music as part of my wellness regimen,I personally enjoy classical, jazz, and of course a nice "spa" playlist. There is no question that music can be a powerful part of your wellness routine also. Just try it!

  • PLAY IT SAFE! - Wear Facial Protection

Posted by Michele Bowers on 4/6/2020 1:35:00 PM

The City of Lancaster has passed a city ordinance requiring all individuals to wear facial protection while in public.  This safety measure not only aids in protecting you, but equally important, wearing facial protection also protects the people that you come in contact with. Facial protection may include a health facial mask or one made of cloth. We are asked to not use the N95 masks so that they may be reserved for medical providers and first responders. Let's all continue to do our part. Wash hands frequently.  Cover your cough. Wear facial protection.   STAY SAFE!

  • School Closure Extended Through End of School Year

Posted by Michele Bowers on 4/2/2020 5:30:00 PM

Student, staff and family safety is our number one priority. State health officials have made it clear that the safest place to be during the COVID-19 pandemic is home. With that in mind, our campuses will remain physically closed for the remainder of the school year. Our decision aligns with the recommendation from Governor Newsom, State Superintendent of Education Tony Thurmond, and Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Debra Duardo that schools remain physically closed for the rest of the academic year. Importantly, while campuses are closed, school will be in session April 6 through June 4 and instruction will continue via a remote learning platform.  For additional information and resources, please check out "Remote Learning" on our webpage.
