Sgt. Clien, of the Los Angeles Police Department came to Monte Vista on Sept 27th to speak to our students about a variety of safety issues.  He talked with out students about bike safety and wearing helmets, what to do if approached by a stranger, the dangers of drug use, and to remind their parents not to use cell phones or text while driving.   He then took questions from the students who were all very excited to talk to him.  Many mentioned they wanted to be Police officers when they grew up!

Fellow Officers, De Leon, Gutierrez, and Corrales joined Sgt. Clien, along with 2 Police SUV's and 4 bikes that they use when they are on patrol. After, the students were allowed to check out the bikes and go into the patrol cars for a first hand look. All the officers visited one on one with the students and fielded many questions. Everyone had a great time!

We'd like to thank Sgt. Clien and the other officers for this amazing outreach to our school!  Monte Vista is proud to support our Law Enforcement Officers!  Monte Vista Backs the Blue!
