Notice of Public Hearings
California School Employees Association and its Chapter #297 Initial Contract Proposal
At its regular meeting to be held at Park View Educational Complex Board Room, located at 808 West Avenue J, Lancaster, California, on September 15, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., the Board of Trustees of the Lancaster School District will hold a Public Hearing to hear comments regarding the California School Employees Association and its Chapter #297’s initial contract proposal to the Lancaster School District for the 2026-2027 school year.
The California School Employees Association and its Lancaster Chapter #297 (CSEA) present their initial successor proposal under the provisions of the current bargaining agreement. It is CSEA's intent to alter or amend the following articles as indicated and present our proposals for public discussion in accordance with Government Code 3547:
- ARTICLE 4-Salary
CSEA proposes to enhance the Salary provision, which shall include but not be limited to stipends, job descriptions and an equitable wage increase to help maintain the integrity of the salary schedule and an acceptable standard of living for all employees. - ARTICLE 5-Health and Welfare
CSEA proposes to enhance the Unit Member Benefits provision, which shall include but not be limited to health and welfare benefits language. - ARTICLE 6-Hours of Employment
CSEA proposes to enhance, modify, eliminate language regarding hours of employment, which shall include but not be limited to holiday language. - ARTICLE 07 - Employee Rights
CSEA proposes to enhance, modify, and/or eliminate language regarding employee rights, which shall include but not be limited to pregnancy disability leave. - ARTICLE 15 - Leave Provisions
CSEA proposes to enhance, modify, and/or eliminate language regarding employee rights, which shall include but not be limited to personnel files.
Lancaster School District Initial Proposal to the California School Employees Association and its Chapter #297
At its regular meeting to be held at Park View Educational Complex, located at 808 West Avenue J, Lancaster, California, on September 15, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., the Board of Trustees of the Lancaster School District will hold a Public Hearing to hear comments regarding the Lancaster School District’s initial proposal to the California School Employees Association and its Chapter #297 for the 2026-2027 school year.
The District and CSEA have an ongoing interest in opening the following articles for review:
• Article XX - Basic Salary
• Article XXI - Employee Benefits
• Article XX - Basic Salary
• Article XXI - Employee Benefits
District and CSEA have mutually agreed to open Article XV – Specifically, Leave Provisions for the limited purpose of updating the contract language to reflect the new requirement of up to fourteen (14) weeks of paid pregnancy leave.
District has an interest in opening the following article for review:
• Article IX – Performance Evaluations
• Article IX – Performance Evaluations
