Expanded Learning Opportunities Department

about

about

The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) is designed to provide a safe, supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment for TK–8 students after school and during nine-hour non-school days. With caring adult supervision, mentorship, and guidance, students participate in meaningful programming that nurtures their academic, social, emotional, and physical development. These experiences are thoughtfully designed to complement and not replicate the regular school day, emphasizing hands-on and project-driven learning opportunities.

Our program aims to spark curiosity, foster creativity, and build confidence through activities that are both fun and enriching. Students are encouraged to explore their interests, collaborate with peers, and develop essential life skills such as communication, leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Our vision is to create opportunities in a dynamic, student-centered environment that is culturally relevant, academically rigorous, and deeply inclusive. We are committed to amplifying student voices and cultivating youth leadership, empowering students to take an active role in shaping the programs they participate in. Through authentic engagement, community partnerships, and continuous reflection, the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program creates an environment where every student is seen, heard, and inspired to thrive.
