AAAC Mission and Purpose

Recognizing the importance of family and community engagement in the education of our children, the African-American Advisory Council (AAAC) is a collaborative effort between families, community members, and school sites in the Lancaster School District. We are committed to creating a safe learning environment that meets the cultural, academic, and socioemotional needs of our students. The AAAC brings us together to build, sustain, and establish strong partnerships to implement strategies that effectively engage and support the needs of our students.

The purpose of our AAAC is to involve and engage families, students, educators, and community members in the decision making process at the district and site levels to improve the quality of education for African-American students by raising awareness in our community and promoting an understanding among parents, educators and others about issues relating to the education of African-American students.

Lancaster School District’s AAAC is dedicated to assuring options and excellence as we empower our scholars to reach their full potential.
