Overview

The Lancaster School District offers annual Knowledge Bowls which are a community event that allows students in grades 4th - 8th the opportunity to showcase their knowledge of world history while developing character and enriching the lives of all who attend. These Jeopardy-style team-based competitions focus on a different area of cultural heritage and are held in October, February, and May.

Preparation begins weeks in advance, with study guides provided to coaches to help teams practice and get ready. During the actual competition, schools across the district participate in preliminary rounds, with the top teams advancing to the final championship. Participants receive either medals or trophies in recognition of their efforts .

Together, the Knowledge Bowls provide fun, rigorous opportunities for students to deepen learning, celebrate culture, and strengthen teamwork throughout the school year.
