Find It Fast
At Linda Verde Elementary School, we believe there’s a lot more to education than just what happens in the classroom. Students need the opportunity to apply their skills with extracurricular, hand-on activities like clubs and sports. We offer our students many opportunities to get involved outside the classroom, allowing them the chance to grow not just academically but physically and socially as well. Our families are also an integral part of our clubs/activities, as we work together to build a school community; that is supportive in ensuring all children have opportunities to grow and develop.
To learn more about joining a school club, please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Phinlang Camacho, our school Clubs/Activities liaison.
Field Trip Club-School & Grade Level

Promoting volunteering opportunities for parents, to enhance the experiences of students through field trip experiences that will be funded by their efforts. Parents & students will be fundraising all year long.
Students will be learning about various dances from all over Latin America, and the Caribbean, with an emphasis on learning about cultural practices where the dances originate from. Students will be immersed in intensive dance lessons, which will be choreographed by an instructor, who specializes in Folklorico dances. (Ms. Renteria, Mrs. Cardoza, Mrs. Ledezma & Ms. Fritz)
The main goal of our Environmental Council club is for students to help the environment through reusing, recycling, and reducing. Students will become leaders who will help educate members of the school and surrounding community on better practices to improve human health and the environment.
Our very own Linda Verde club will be leading the effort in prevention of childhood inactivity and obesity. Students run during the morning, and later in the Spring, will begin running in the afternoons. Students keep track of their progress, miles ran, and also, their overall well-being.
(Ms. Fritz & Ms. Ramos)
Coding provides students with a fun and safe way to gain problem solving and computational thinking skills. Students will develop these skills and gain coding experiences using Ozobots, Ozoblockly, CODE.org, and Scratch Jr. from MIT to create their own interactive stories and games.
Students who love reading will be participating in this club, and also students who need help with reading skills are welcomed to join. Starting in late fall, students will be immersed in reading grade level books of their choice, and will also have an opportunity to grow their love for reading.
School Garden Club
Students in grades 4th & 5th participate in learning experiences to enhance their understanding of fresh foods, as they learn to prepare the garden, pulling out weeds, preparing the earth, planting seeds, watering and caring for a variety of fruits and vegetable plants, which yield their fruits during the summer. This club starts in the spring, the time of the year for planting, and concludes at the end of the school year.
Musical Theater Club
(Ms. Boone & Ms. Katie)
Our students from grades TK/K through 2nd grade will be immersed in an array of activities, ranging from costuming, prop preparation, dancing, and singing. During the school year, all club members will be performing in two major events; during our Winter concert, and also for the CREATE Festival in conjunction with the city of Lancaster Performing Arts program.
(Mr. Balcazar & Mr. Nishimoto)
Boys club is based on the core belief that a climate of mutual respect and high expectations provides a foundation to increase learner involvement. As a school, we find these beliefs to be important both in and out of the classroom.
We will teach and model these values throughout the year as we begin our journey with our boys this year.
(Ms. Sahagun & Ms. Cardoza)

Linda Verde Information
On behalf of the California PBIS Coalition, we are pleased to recognize LINDA VERDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL for successful PBIS implementation at the GOLD level.
California students take several mandated statewide tests. These tests provide parents/guardians, teachers, and educators with information about how well students are learning and becoming college and career ready. The test results may be used for local, state, and federal accountability purposes.
Link for more information below in both Spanish and English.
The Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments are part of the state testing program called the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress or CAASPP. The CAASPP System is designed to give information to teachers, students, and their families about what students know and are able to do and whether they are on track to be ready for success in college or career when they graduate from high school.

How can I help my child get ready for the test?
You are an important part of your child's education. Some things you can do to help your child are:
- Discuss the test with your child. Make sure they are not scared or anxious.
- Take a practice test with your child. Practice tests can be found at http://www.caaspp.org/practice-and-training/index.
- Make sure your child gets a good night's sleep and a nutritious breakfast before testing.
- Review test results with your child and discuss with their teacher where they might need additional help.
- Visit http://www.testscoreguide.org/ca for additional information about your child's score and to see sample test items.
Your child's teacher or principal is the best place to start if you have other questions about testing or available accessibility resources.
Attendance is Important
Attendance is Important and helps predict future success for students. Learn more about how attendance affects your child.
Parents are frequently looking for ways to help their children succeed in school and prevent dropouts. They want to see them graduate and have the opportunity to move on to college and great careers. One of the best ways to encourage success and reduce the risk of dropping out is to make sure children get to school. Check out these statistics about the benefits of good attendance. For more details, please open the flier linked at the bottom.
Attendance is Important
- In the elementary years, children who miss school are more likely to struggle academically and, in later years, to dropout entirely
