Sierra Elementary School Sunday Message - January 12, 2020
Good evening Sierra families. This is Mrs. McConnell calling with your Sunday message. We are excited to welcome your students back to school tomorrow morning. I hope that you have enjoyed your time off with your children! We are pleased to announce two new additions to the Sierra family. Our new first grade teacher, Mrs. Llarena, will be taking over for Mrs. Schaaff starting tomorrow. Parents of room 13 students are invited to join us for a meet and greet with Mrs. Llarena in the classroom on Friday morning, at 8:00am. Also joining us is our new office assistant, Mrs. Arcega who will be starting next week. Please be sure to always bring your ID with you when picking up your students, as we have new office staff. Remember, parents and emergency contacts are always required to present identification when coming on to campus or signing out students. Coming up this week, Tuesday is a minimum day with dismissal at 12:05pm. Wednesday is college shirt day and that morning, our school site council meeting will be at 7:15am. Our 3rd grade math tutoring will be after school. Thursday is superhero day. On Thursday, we have our 3rd grade math tutoring and Sierra Strummers practice after school. Friday is school spirit day. Tomorrow is the start of a brand new semester, so this is your student’s chance to have a fresh start with regard to their academics, attendance, and behavior. This week’s student success tip is to talk to your students about how they can take advantage of this fresh start. Help your student to understand the importance of attending school everyday, on time. Also help them to understand how they can stay on top of their assignments by using their class time wisely and completing their homework. In addition, having good behavior at school helps to ensure that students are successful, as well as to promote a safe and happy campus. We look forward to seeing your student, bright and early tomorrow morning!
