• Flyer Distribution Guidelines for Community Organizations

    The Lancaster School District partners with community organizations or programs to provide information to students and families about educational and recreational opportunities that enrich, engage, and enliven the educational experience for our students, families, and staff. We believe that it is part of our purpose to serve as a conduit between community partners and our families.

    To facilitate this exchange of information, we implemented Peachjar, an online eflyer service, and no longer accept paper flyers for distribution to our students. There will be a small fee charged to outside organizations to use this service. Discontinuing paper flyers is more fiscally and environmentally responsible, more efficient and embraces innovative technology. E- flyers will now be emailed directly to parents’ inboxes and posted online for easy access to information about approved community programs, events and educational opportunities.

    • Upload the flyer for approval
    • Lancaster School District Superintendent's Office will review and approve or deny content based on requirements below.

    Lancaster School District will generally approve the distribution of an e-flyer that:

    • Promotes an educational experience for students, families, caregivers or staff, a healthy use of leisure time, a special enrichment opportunity, or an activity that engages students and families in the community.
    • Provides information or promotes activities aligned with the mission of the district, directly benefits students, or is of intrinsic value to students and families.

    Lancaster School District will NOT approve the distribution of an e-flyer that:

    • Promotes, publicizes or provides materials for projects, activities or programs of a particular church, religious organization or religious viewpoint.
    • Promotes, publicizes or provides materials for projects, activities or programs of a particular political party, political organization, political viewpoint or ideology.
    • Promotes, publicizes or provides materials for projects, activities or programs of a particular affinity group.
    • Promotes the use or sale of materials or services that are illegal or inconsistent with school objectives, including, but not limited to, materials or advertisements for alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, smokeless tobacco products, electronic cigarettes, and movies or products unsuitable for children.
    • Promotes commercial enterprises.
    • Positions the Lancaster School District on any side of a controversial issue.
    • Are lewd, obscene, libelous, or slanderous.
    • Incites students to commit unlawful acts, violate school rules, or disrupt the orderly operation of schools.
    • Solicits funds or services for an organization unless authorized by Board policy.
    • Does not align with the mission of the Lancaster School District.

    Flyers must contain all the following information:

    • Organization or Sponsor
    • Name and phone number of an adult contact person
    • Description of event
    • Location, date and time
    • Cost (if any)
    • Ages of children (if applicable)

    As a courtesy to our community and in order to provide access to all of our students and families, we suggest that flyers be submitted in both English and Spanish in the same document. Flyers can have multiple pages (up to 4), and only incur a fee for one flyer. 

     Peachjar will automatically add the following disclaimer in English and Spanish:

    "DISCLAIMER: Distribution of this flyer is for information purposes only and does not necessarily constitute or imply endorsement, recommendation, or favoring by the Lancaster School District. Participation in any event or activity sponsored by this organization is strictly voluntary and is not in any way a school-sponsored activity of the Lancaster School District. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for determining suitability for their child. If you have questions, please call the contact person listed on the flyer.”
