School-Based Mental Health

School-Based Mental Health

  • Lancaster School District has partnered with community agencies to provide School-Based Mental Health at every school campus.

If a parent/guardian is interested in accessing School-Based Mental Health, they are encouraged to talk to their school's counselor or psychologist.

After a referral has been submitted, an intake meeting is held with the parent/guardian to develop a treatment plan, then the therapist begins seeing the student on campus.

Other supports may be available through community agencies, including medication management, Therapeutic Behavioral Services, Wrap Around services, and family counseling.  The services are paid for through Medi-Cal.  If a family has private insurance, the counselor or psychologist can discuss other options.
